World Book Day
This year, we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March. It’s a worldwide celebration of books and reading and is marked in over 100 countries!
To celebrate World Book Day at Lons, we have decided to have a dress up and activity day. At school we will be reading the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ by Drew Daywalt and completing some learning activities based on the story of Duncan and his rebellious crayons…
Additionally, children may dress up either as their favourite book character for the day if they wish or as one of the crayons (e.g. a red t-shirt and red leggings). We would love to see homemade costumes or blocks of colours and do not expect parents to go to the expense of buying new costumes. This is about celebrating our love of reading and stories.
Many thanks for your support.
