Welcome to Lons Infant School!

Christmas at Lons

Christmas is going to look a little different this year at Lons and, while we want to make it as enjoyable as we can for the children, we still need to be mindful of being in a pandemic and following Government guidance.

Christmas Party Day - children are invited to come dressed in Christmas party clothes on Friday 11th December for their Christmas parties. However, could you please ensure that they are still in warm clothes/suitable footwear for going outside to play. They will be having their parties in the 'Bubbles' in their classrooms and Mrs Chapman will be doing party food for the school dinner on that day. Teachers will be organising party games and music etc. We have spoken with Santa and he will be making a special journey on Thursday 10th to deliver some presents ready for the parties.

Christmas Carol Concert - unfortunately we are unable to safely hold a carol concert this year.

School Concert - Each class is producing a small performance to be shared with parents. Details of this will be available at a later date.

Christmas Cards - to reduce the risk of transfer, we are asking that children only send a card to the 'Bubble' as a whole, and only the 'Bubble' they are in, and not to individual children. The cards will then be read out by the class teacher and then displayed in the classroom.

Christmas Jumper day - we are again combining Christmas Jumper day with our Christmas Dinner day. These will both take place on Thursday 10th December. Children will be having their Christmas dinner in their 'Bubble' as normal whilst listening to Christmas songs.

The Pantomime will still be going ahead this year but virtually. Again children will be watching this from their classrooms, rather than as a whole school in the hall.
