Lons Infant School opened in 1974 as an open plan establishment. Over the years subsequent PTA events have funded additional building work to enable us to have three distinct classroom areas and a separate positive play area.
The reception class enjoys the facility of a double patio door and the children are able to move outside as and when to play in all areas of the curriculum.
The year one and year two classrooms have outdoor areas to allow children to learn both inside and outside.
We have a separate dining area and a well equipped kitchen with meals cooked on the premises.
There is a hall where we have a good standard and selection of large and small PE equipment.
The grounds surrounding the school are varied and attractive. There is a hard surfaced playground area and various grassed areas as well as a variety of trees and shrubs. We have a large area of woodland that we use to develop our outside learning and forest school curriculum.
